WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - Beloit's softball team lost both of their games on Tuesday afternoon by identical 6-1 scores. The Buccaneers lost to Lakeland University in their first game, before falling to St. Scholastica in the nightcap.

Against Lakeland, Beloit scored the game's first run, as Kaylee Witte drove in Briana Arteaga with a single to center. That lead lasted until the third when Lakeland moved in front with two runs on a two-out error. They would score again in the fourth on an RBI single, before also adding a pair of RBI singles later in the contest.

Beloit's two hits came from Kaylee Witte and Angela Donath. Witte also allowed just one earned run on four hits in four innings of work in the circle.

The day's second game saw St. Scholastica build an early six-run lead, plating one on a single in the first, while following that up with a five-spot in the second, which included a two-run single and a ground rule double that also scored a pair of runs. Bel9it's lone run came in the fifth when Siddalee Meyers drove in Colleen Quinlivan with a single to center.

Beloit finished the game with eight hits, including two from Donath. Samantha Friedrichsohn pitched well in relief for the Buccaneers, tossing five innings of scoreless ball, while allowing just three hits.

The Buccaneers will be in action again on Thursday when they'll play Plymouth State and Fredonia at 2 and 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time, respectively.
