BELOIT, Wis. - Beloit's women's lacrosse team won their second consecutive game Wednesday afternoon, defeating UW-Stout 15-7. Beloit sophomore
Johanna McNair outscored the Blue Devils all by herself, as she recorded eight goals, which ties a single game school record, which was set three years ago.
The Buccaneers (2-2) never trailed in the contest, which saw them also hold a 24-21 shot advantage. Beloit scored the first six goals of the match, starting with McNair's first just two minutes into the game. She added a second just a minute later, before
Olivia Farbarik got into the action with a goal just minutes later. McNair recorded a hat trick with her third goal mid-way through the first quarter, before
Paige Airaudi scored to give Beloit a 5-0 lead entering the second period. Farbarik added a second goal before UW-Stout finally got on the board on a Loryn Tornell goal two minutes into the quarter. McNair would score three more times in the second, while Farbarik and Airaudi also each scored another goal, giving Beloit an 11-3 halftime lead.
UW-Stout's Ally Crymble started the scoring in the second half, but McNair and Airaudi each scored again to give the Buccaneers a 13-4 lead entering the fourth and final quarter. In that final frame, Stout outscored Beloit 3-2, with the Buccaneers' goals coming from
Evelyn Manchester and McNair, who tied the single game school record with her eighth goal on an assist from Farbarik with three minutes remaining in regulation.
In addition to McNair's scoring prowess, she also added an assist, giving her nine total points, which ranks third in program history and is just one point shy of the school record. Farbarik and Airaudi also each recorded a hat trick, while Farbarik and
Elzbieta Patapaite led the team with two assists apiece.
Sofia Jeddeloh played all 60 minutes at Goal Keeper for the Buccaneers, making 10 saves.
UW-Stout was led by Crymble and Tornell, who each scored two goals. Megan Copeland added a team-high two assists. Tessa Bailey played all 60 minutes in goal for the Blue Devils, recording four saves.
