MILWAUKEE, Wis. = Milwaukee School of Engineering used a 10-0 halftime lead to coast to a 16-4 win over Beloit's men's lacrosse game on Wednesday. MSOE also out-shot the Buccaneers by a 64-18 margin.
MSOEÂ (8-4, 5-0 NACC) scored three goals in the opening quarter, before adding seven more in the second period, which gave the Raiders a 10-0 lead at intermission.
MSOE also scored the first goal of the second half, before Beloit (2-9, 1-4 NACC) got on the board with an unassisted goal by
Liam Walker on a man-up opportunity. MSOE would answer with another goal, followed by
Emmet Morgan finding the back of the net for the Buccaneers. Beloit added two more goals in the fourth quarter from
Brenon Reed and
Keeler Tardiff, but it wasn't enough too overcome that early deficit.
Sam Thompson led all players with four goals for MSOE. Beloit's
Eric Seo played all but two minutes in the contest, making 16 saves. MSOE had four players combine for eight saves in goal.
Beloit will try to rebound on Saturday when they'll host Illinois Tech. That game is scheduled to begin at Noon at Strong Stadium in Beloit, Wis.
