FOND Du LAC, Wis. - Beloit's women's lacrosse team lost to Marian University Tuesday evening by a score of 18-2. The Sabres also held a shot advantage of 51-6, including 28-2 in the first half.
Marian (8-7, 3-3 NACC) opened the scoring with a goal mid-way through the first quarter, but wouldn't score again until the second period when they added five goals. Beloit scored on an
Olivia Farbarik goal in that quarter, but would trail 6-1 at the half.
The Sabres opened the game up in the third period, scoring eight goals, before capping the scoring with four more in the fourth. Beloit's only other goal of the contest came mid-way through the third period on a shot by
Paige Airaudi.
Marian was led by Izzy Newton's six goals, while Nicole Stachon and Dallas Kreisa added five and four, respectively. Beloit Goal Keeper
Sofia Jeddeloh made 18 saves in 60 minutes of action, while Gwen Kosirog saved two shots for Marian.
Beloit will bring their 2023 season to an end on Saturday when they'll host Edgewood College for Senior Day. That game will begin at Noon at Strong Stadium in Beloit, Wis.
