ST. LOUIS, Mo. - This afternoon the Beloit College Women's Soccer team wrapped up their weekend in St. Louis with a game against Webster University.
The Buccaneers (1-4) faced some adversity from the start against the Gorloks (2-2). Starting goal keeper
Daisy Kleinhoffer (Minooka, Ill.) got sent off in the 30th minute after a hard tackle. Despite playing a woman down for the remainder of the game, the Bucs held their own. Webster led Beloit in shots, 15(10) to 5(1).
Following the Kleinhoffer ejection,
Briana Arteaga (Covina, Calif.)entered the game in goal. In her 60 minutes of action, Arteaga saved 6 shots and gave up the lone goal. BC's best shot came in the 47th minute by
Megan Thompson (Clarendon Hills, Ill.). The Bucs fended off multiple opportunities by the Gorloks but the pressure reached a breaking point in the 88th minute when WU scored the game winner.Â
The Buccaneers return to the pitch on Saturday, September 23rd at home. They kick off Midwest Conference play against Cornell. Kick off is set for 11 am at the Strong Complex Soccer Field.Â
