BELOIT, Wis. - This afternoon the Beloit Women's Soccer team opened up Midwest Conference (MWC) play against the Cornell College Rams (0-4-1). The Bucs (2-5-0) got back in the win column after scoring two goals in the 2nd half of action.
Neither team had many opportunities in the first half with Beloit only firing 7 shots and Cornell taking 2. The pieces started to fall for Beloit in the second half.
Bri Paez (Las Vegas, Nev.) put the Bucs on the board first in the 58th minute. Paez connected with a ball from
Aspen Valentine (Kent, Wash.) for the goal. BC's 2nd and final goal of the match came in the 79th minute. This time a ball from Valentine connected with the back of the net off the head of
Megan Thompson (Clarendon Hills, Ill.)
The Buccaneers turn around and host Edgewood college tomorrow afternoon for a non-conference match. Kick off is set for 1pm at Strong Complex Soccer Field.
