BELOIT, Wis. - The Beloit Women's volleyball team concluded play at the Gio Invitational this afternoon. In their two games today, the Buccaneers faced off against #9 Johns Hopkins and #1 Juniata.
Match 1 vs Johns Hopkins
The Bucs struggled to find their footing early against Johns Hopkins, falling in the first set, 25-5. They came closer in the 2nd and 3rd sets, losing 18-25 and 11-25.
Jasmin Bowers (Richmond, Texas) led the Bucs with 4 kills.
Abbie Schmidt (Buckley, Ill.) recorded 8 assists in the match.
Match 2 vs Juniata
The #1 team in the country proved to be a tall task for Beloit. Again falling in three sets, 11-25, 11-25, 7-25.
Siddalee Meyers (Orfordville, Wis.), Schmidt and
Kierra "Rayne" Hoover (Albuquerque, New Mexico) all tallied 2 kills in the loss.
The Bucs return to action on Wednesday September 6th in Rockford against Rockford University. The match is set to start at 7pm.
