BELOIT, Wis. - This afternoon the Beloit Buccaneer's (0-7-0) opened up Midwest Conference play against the Rams on Cornell College (2-4-3). Five of the seven total goals were scored in an action packed 2nd half.
The Bucs fell behind 0-2 in the first 45, giving up goals in 14th and 29th minutes. Out of the half, the Rams pushed their lead to 4-0 with goals in the 49th and 64th minutes.
Derek Veenstra (Three Rivers, MI) broke open the scoring for Beloit when he found the back of the net off a ball that was mishandled by the Cornell keeper. Veenstra added his second and the final Beloit goal in teh 85th minute on a penalty kick.
The Buccaneers return to the pitch on Saturday, September 30th on the road in Monmouth, Ill. They will face MWC foe Monmouth College. Kick off agains thte Scots is set for 1:30 pm.
