BELOIT, Wis. - This afternoon the Beloit College Women's soccer team hosted the Edgewood College Eagles in a non-conference match. The Bucs (2-5-1) were looking to capitalize of yesterday's win and push that momentum forwards. The Eagles (4-3-3) proved to be a tough opponent. The shot chart was almost identical, with Edgewood having a one shot advantage, 8(4) shots to the Bucs 7(3).
After a scoreless 1st 45 minutes of action, the 2nd 45 saw the momentum pick up.
Abigail Membrino (Darien, Wis.) broke the tie in the 53rd minute. Membrino connected on a ball from
Lauryn Volza (Albuquerque, N.M.) and snuck it past the Eagles keeper on the back side. Volza sent in the cross off a free kick from
Aspen Valentine (Kent, Wash.).
The Eagles tied the game with a goal of their own in the 66th minute.
The Buccaneers hit the road for their next match, heading to Stevens Point, Wis. for another non-conference match. Kick off against the UWSP Pointers is set for 4pm on Wednesday, September 27th.
