BELOIT, Wis. - Last night the Beloit College women's soccer team (2-6-1) headed north to Stevens Point, Wis. for a midweek game against the UW-Stevens Point Pointers (2-6-0). After a defensive showdown in the first half, UWSP pulled away, scoring 2 in the final 45 minutes.
UWSP edged BC in the shot category with 16 total shots and 6 on goal. Meanwhile, the Bucs only fired off 3 shots with one of those being on goal.
It wasn't until the 69th minute that the Pointers broke the tie, adding their second goal just 5 minutes later in the 74th minute.
Abigail Membrino (Darien, Wis.) recorded the only shot on goal for Beloit and
Maya Betzler (College Place, Wash.) played all 90 in goal, making 4 saves.
The Bucs hit the road this weekend for an MWC matchup woth the Fighting Scots of Monmouth. Kick off is set for 11 am.
