GRINNELL, IA- The Beloit College Women's basketball team fell short of a come from behind win over the Pioneers of Grinnell College (9-6, 4-3 MWC) this evening. The Buccaneers were in search of their second straight Midwest Conference win. Beloit trailed by eight, 40-32 at the half before pulling it within five entering the final ten minutes of play.
The Buccaneers (4-11, 2-5 MWC) had three double-figure scorers,
Hannah Welte (Clinton, Wis.),
Elizabeth Kalk (Clinton, Wis.) and
Johanna McNair (Fishers, Ind.). Welte tallied a team-high 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Kalk recorded 11 points with four steals and four rebounds. Kalk accounted for four of the Bucs nine steals. McNair tied a season-high with 11 points on 44% shooting from the field and 50% from behind the arc.
The Buccaneers head to Galesburg, Ill. on Saturday, January 13th to continue MWC play against Knox College. Tip off is set for 3pm.
