Track and Field Opens Season at Red Hawk Alumni Dual

RIPON, Wis.- The Beloit College Indoor Track and Field teams hit the track for the first time in 2024 when they traveled to Ripon, Wis. for the Ripon Alumni Dual. 

Overall, the Buccaneers earned eight 1st place finishes. On the men's side, Joshua Martinez Marte (Beloit, Wis.) earned 1st place finishes in both the shot put and weighted throw. His throw of 12.18m in the shot put was .6m further than the 2nd place finisher. A throw of 12.86m earned him 1st in the weighted throw. In the high jump, Kevon Mills jumped 1.85 meters, earning him the top spot. For the women, Candis Damste (Accra, Ghana) ran a 28.05 in the 200 to finish 1st. In the field, Naomee Casey (Broken Arrow, Okla) took 1st in the pole vault, hitting 2.74 meters. Both the men's and women's 4x200 relays took the top spots as well. 

The Buccaneers stay in state next Saturday when they head to Whitewater, Wis. for the Karl Schlender Invite.
