GALESBURG, Ill. - With under two minutes to go in a game where they trailed by as many as eight, the Buccaneers' tied the game when
Clayton Jenny (Edgerton, Wis.) hit his one and only three of the game. Unfortunately it wasn't enough, and the Bucs fell 49-51, marking their fourth consecutive MWC loss.
The Buccaneers' (10-6, 4-4 MWC) shot a season low 26.2% (16-61) from the field while the Prairie Fire (11-5, 4-2 MWC) shot nearly 44%. Points off turnovers helped fuel the Bucs' second half comeback. Thirteen of Beloit's twenty points off turnover came in the second half, a half where they outscored Knox by 6, 31-25. Jenny led the Buccaneers in scoring with 11 points. He grabbed five rebounds and two steals.
Semaj Roy (Chicago, Ill.) was the only other Buc to score in double digits. He tallied ten points five rebounds and three steals before fouling out with two seconds left.
Beloit returns to Flood Arena on Wednesday, January 17th to host Lake Forest College. Tip off is set for 5:30pm.
