BELOIT, Wis. - Looking to end a four game losing streak, the Beloit College Men's basketball team used some of their best shooting to send the Foresters packing. The Buccaneers shot 53% (36-68) from the field, 48% (11-23) from deep and 57% (4-7) from the charity stripe.
The Buccaneers (11-6, 5-4 MWC) saw major contributions from their bench tonight. 48 of their 87 points came from non-starters, while Lake Forest (3-14, 1-7 MWC) only saw 23 bench points. The teams were evenly matched down low, each getting 38 points in the paint.
Azeez Ganiyu (Beloit, Wis.) notched his ninth double-double of the season, leading the team with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Brian Rusch (Edgerton, Wis.) was a major factor in the Bucs' efficient night, shooting 5-6 from the field, including 4-5 from downtown for 14 points. He also dished our three assists.
Jabari Scuefield (Hazel Crest, Ill.) and
Dae'Quan Davis (Chicago, Ill.) each added 12 points. Scuefield also tallied five boards, three steals and 2 assists. Davis scored his twelve on 6-9 shooting and pulled down six rebounds.
The Buccaneers stay home this weekend for a major MWC clash against the Conference leading Illinois College Blue Boys. Tip off at Flood Arena on Saturday is set for 1 pm.
