BELOIT, Wis. - Coming off an exhilarating last minute victory over the weekend, the Beloit College Women's Basketball team looked to carry that momentum to win back-to-back games for the first time this season. The Buccaneers (6-11, 4-5 MWC) faced a scrappy Lake Forest (2-14, 1-7 MWC) squad who fought hard to stop them.
Beloit shot nearly 50% (25-51) from the field, their second highest shooting percentage this season, en route to a 72-50 victory. The Bucs out rebounded the Foresters 47-36 and turned some of those into 15 second chance points. Beloit also dominated the points off turnovers and points in the paint categories.
Three of the five Beloit starters finished in double-figures.
Hannah Welte (Clinton, Wis.) scored a game-high 18 points on 3-4 shooting from deep, to go along with two assists and two steals.
Elizabeth Kalk (Clinton, Wis.) finished with 16 points, nine boards, six assists and four steals.
Hadja Bayo (Round Rock, Texas) followed with 14 points and seven rebounds.
The Buccaneers now prepare to host the Illinois College Lady Blues on Saturday. Tip off at Flood Arena is set for 3pm.
