RIPON, Wis. - The Beloit College Women's basketball team traveled to Ripon, Wis. this evening for a match up with the Midwest Conference Leaders Ripon College. The Buccaneers (7-13, 5-7 MWC) struggled offensively against the Red Hawks (14-6, 11-0 MWC). For only the second time this season, no Buc recorded double-digit scoring.
The Red Hawks stifling defense forced 22 Beloit turnovers and their most inconsistent shooting night of the year. The Bucs shot only 21.7% (10-46) from the field but connected on 79.2% (19-24) of their free throws.
Only three Buccaneers scored over five points,
Elizabeth Kalk (Clinton, Wis.) led with eight points, two steals and one rebound.
Hannah Welte (Clinton, Wis.) scored seven points, recorded three steals, two rebounds and two assists. Freshman
Kaelie Moreno (Yorkville, Ill.) scored a career-high seven points in nine minutes of action off the bench.
The Buccaneers return to Flood Arena on Saturday, February 3rd against the Cornell Rams. Tip off is set for 3pm.
