BELOIT, Wis.- The Beloit College Men's basketball team dropped their second straight game this afternoon, their first set of back-to-back losses this season. The Buccaneers hosted the Fighting Scots of Monmouth College and were looking for the season sweep.
The Buccaneers' (10-4, 4-2 MWC) led by two heading into the break, 34-32. The Fighting Scots (9-5, 3-2 MWC) came into the second half with new energy, hitting 3 threes and shooting 80% (16-20) from the charity stripe. On the flip side, the Bucs shot just 38.5% (5-13) from the free throw line in the second half.
Three Bucs recorded ten points, tied for the team-high.
Semaj Roy (Chicago, Ill.) added seven rebounds along with his ten.
Jabari Scuefield (Hazel Crest, Ill.) grabbed two boards and recorded one steal to go along with his ten. Off the bench,
Anthony Carter (Greenfield, Wis.) secured two boards, dished out one assist and got one steal. In 27 minutes of action,
Clayton Jenny (Edgerton, Wis.)led the team with four assists, adding to his 5 points.
The Buccaneers head to fast-paced Grinnell College on Wednesday, January 6th. Tip off in Grinnell, Iowa is set for 5:30pm.
