Men's Soccer Held Scoreless Against Ripon

RIPON, Wis. - The Beloit College Men's Soccer team traveled to Ripon, Wisconsin today for an MWC match up against the Red Hawks of Ripon College. The Buccaneers (2-12-0, 1-3-0 MWC) were looking to get back on track following a midweek loss on Wednesday. The Red Hawks (9-5-0, 1-3 MWC) had other plans, scoring three goals in the first half and a final in the second to win 4-0. 

The Buccaneers fired off ten shots, three on goal compared to 35 and fifteen from Ripon. Tony Vogt (Elkhorn, Wis.), Juan Calzada (Madison, Wis.) and Mamucha Munthali (Johannesburg) registered the shots on goal for the Bucs. Calzada's shot came in the 16th minute with a chance to tie the game at one. Munthali and Vogt's shots both game in the final twenty minutes of action. 

Freshman Cody Nowaczyk (Elkhorn, Wis.) got the start in goal for Beloit, making nine saves in 57 minutes before making way for David Staats (Meridian, ID). Staats coraled two saves in 32 minutes. 

The Bucs have a week off before hosting the Knox College Prairie Fire next Saturday at 11 am.
