DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Beloit College Volleyball team traveled to Loras College this evening for a non-conference meeting with the Duhawks. After dropping the first two sets, the Buccaneers (2-15, 0-2 MWC) rallied back to win the third set 25-22 to force set four. The Duhawks (11-11, 1-2 American Rivers) closed the door on the Bucs' hopes of a set five, defeating BC 25-16 to win the match three sets to one (25-12, 25-11, 22-25, 25-16).
Freshman
Selin Tufte (Clarkdale, AZ) set another career-high this evening, dishing out 21 assists. She added two service aces to her stat line as well.
Kaci Watanabe (Wahiawa, Hawaii) was the second and final Buccaneer to hit double-digits. On the back line, the libero coraled 10 digs and led the Bucs with three service aces.
McKayla "Maka" Simao (Sparta, Wis.) led the Beloit offense with eight kills but also tallied seven digs.
The Buccaneers return to the court on Friday when they jump back into MWC play. The Bucs face the Knox College Prarie Fire on the road. The match from Memorial Gymnasium in Galesburg is set to start at 7 pm.
