BELOIT, Wis. - One second half goal was all the Beloit College Women's soccer team needed this afternoon to defeat the Knox College Prairie Fire. Prior to the game, the senior women's soccer players were recognized for their four years in the blue and yellow.

Alexxa Schubert (Anchorage, Alaska),
Lauryn Volza (Albuquerque, N.M.) and
Maya Betzler (College Place, Wash.) have amassed an overall record of 26-27-16 and an MWC record of 17-5-7. They have one Midwest Conference Tournament title and three MWC Tournament appearances on their resumes.
The Buccaneers (4-8-3, 3-1-1 MWC) out shot the Prairie Fire (1-10-2, 0-3-1 MWC) nine to five in the first half, with one shot on goal for Knox and four for Beloit. Neither team found the back of the net in the first forty five minutes.
Abigail Membrino (Darien, Wis.) broke the 0-0 tie just twenty seven seconds into the second half. She connected with
Natalie Ortiz (Crystal Lake, Ill.) to sneak one passed the Prairie Fire keeper.
At the conclusion of the game, the Bucs recorded 21 shots with ten on goal. Knox posted eight and two.
The Buccaneers return to the field on Tuesday, October 22nd to host MWC leading Lake Forest College. Tuesday's match will be a rematch of last years MWC Tournament semi-finals. LFC defeated the Bucs 2-0.
