NOTRE DAME, Ind. - After opening MWC play earlier this week, the Beloit College Volleyball team stepped back out of conference for a Sunday afternoon match up with the Belles of Saint Mary's College in Indiana. 

The Buccaneers (1-13, 0-1 MWC) entered the match searching for their first win in just over a month. Meanwhile, the Belles (8-9, 0-2 MIAA) were hoping to stop their own 7-game losing streak. SMC came out on top, winning the match three sets to none, 25-15, 25-19, 25-11. 

The height of the Belles was a key factor, they recorded 43 kills and 7 blocks compared to just 27 kills and one block from the Bucs. 

Beloit was led by a multitude of players. Naomi Murphy (Dubuque, Iowa) recorded eight kills and the teams only block. Emily Ortiz (Aurora, IL) led with 10 assists, Kierra Rayne Hoover (Albuquerque, New Mexico) had two services aces and four kills and McKayla "Maka" Simao (Sparta, Wis.) led the back line with eight digs and one assist. 

The Buccaneers return home on Tuesday, October 8th to host the Inferno of Alverno College. The Bucs defeated Alverno on the road earlier this season. The match will start from Flood Arena at 7 pm.
