BELOIT, Wis. - This afternoon the Beloit College Women's Soccer team hosted the Lawrence University Vikings for their second straight home Midwest Conference match.
The Buccaneers (2-8-3, 1-1-1 MWC) and
Abigail Membrino (Darien, Wis.) wasted no time opening the scoring but ultimately the Vikings (8-3-1, 3-0-0 MWC) came out on top with goals in the seventh and 34th minutes.
Membrino found the back of the net in just the fourth minute after grabbing the rebound after the Viking goal keeper rejected
Anna Williams (Fenton, Mo.) first shot attempt.
The Buccaneers fired off a total of 12 shots, half of which registered as on goal. The Vikings saw more offensive production with 25 total shots and 14 in
Maya Betzler's (College Place, Wash.) direction. Betzler corralled twelve saves, two off her season-high.
Beloit is back in action on the road on Saturday at Ripon. Kick off against the Red Hawks is set for 1:30 pm at Hopp Stadium.
