BELOIT, Wis. - The Beloit College Women's Basketball team headed to Lakeland University this afternoon for a match up with the Muskies. The Muskies (2-2, 0-0 NACC) defeated the Buccaneers (0-4, 0-0 MWC) by a final score of 82-55.
Despite the challenging 82-55 defeat at Lakeland, several Buccaneers had notable performances, with senior
Hailey Johnson (South Milwaukee, Wis.) leading the way. Johnson finished with a team-high 16 points on 6-of-14 shooting, including three 3-pointers, while also collecting 7 rebounds and recording 3 blocks in nearly 33 minutes of play.
Johanna McNair (Fishers, Ind.) contributed across multiple categories, posting 8 points while leading the team with 5 steals and 3 assists.
Kaelie Moreno (Yorkville, Ill.) provided solid production off the bench, scoring 7 points on efficient shooting (1-of-3 from the field, 4-of-4 from the free throw line) and grabbing 4 rebounds in just under 21 minutes of action.
Kaitlin Davis (Platte City, Mo.) added 6 points on 2-of-4 shooting (all from three-point range) and matched McNair with 5 steals, helping Beloit's defensive effort despite the loss.
The team struggled with ball control, committing 35 turnovers which led to 35 points for Lakeland. This proved to be a decisive factor in the game's outcome as Beloit dropped to 0-4 on the season.
The Buccaneers return home to Flood Arena on Wednesday, November 20th to host Benedictine. Tip off is set for 7 pm.
