BELOIT, Wis. - For just the 16th time in program history, the Beloit College Women's basketball team welcomed a new member into the 1000-point club. With the Buccaneers' 88-56 lopsided victory over the Blue Angels of Mt. Mary University came Elizabeth Kalk's (Clinton, Wis.) 1000th point. To make the night even better, she surpassed 400 career rebounds. 

The Buccaneers (9-13, 6-7 MWC) led from start to finish and allowed only four Blue Angel points in the first ten minutes of play. Mount Mary (10-11) fell under .500 on a poor shooting night. The Blue Angels shot just 27.6% (16-58) compared to the Bucs 47.8% (33-69). Beloit shot an impressive 46.2% (12-26) from deep, their second highest 3-point percentage this season. The bench was huge in the win for Beloit, scoring 45 of the 88 points and making 53% of their threes. 

Kalk led the Bucs with 16 points, seven rebounds, six assists and one block.  Alexis Ross (Summit Argo, Ill.) also hit a career-mark this evening, scoring 12 points on 5 for 8 shooting in 22 minutes of action off the bench. Ross added three rebounds as well. Hannah Welte (Clinton, Wis.) was the only other Buc to hit double-figures scoring with 12. All twelve of her points came from downtown. Twelve of the thirteen Beloit players recorded at least two points. 

The Buccaneers return to MWC action on Saturday when they host the Prairie Fire of Knox College. The celebrations will continue for Beloit as they will recognize their five seniors pre-game. Tip off is set for 3pm.
