Men's Lacrosse Gets First Win of 2024 Season Over Earlham

BELOIT, Wis. - Yesterday afternoon the Beloit College Men's Lacrosse team got their first win of the 2024 season when they defeated the Earlham College Quakers 9-5. The Buccaneers (1-2, 0-0 NACC) we led by Liam Walker and Will Palmer. Walker tallied three goals while Palmer had two. Four other Bucs' scored in the win. 

Walker opened the scoring for both teams with his goal at the 11:03 mark. With just over four minutes left in the period, Palmer fired in his first goal that opened the flood gates for the final four minutes. Earlham put one on the board to cut BC's lead in half before Walker scored his second of the game with just over a minute and a half remaining. The Bucs' led 3-1 after the first quarter. 

The only two goals of the 2nd quarter were both Quaker goals, tying the game heading into the break. 

Earlham jumped out to a 5-3 lead in the first five minutes of the 2nd half before the Bucs scored the final six goals of the game. Emmet Morgan pulled Beloit within one at the 10:17 mark of the 3rd. Jordan Rice tied the game with just over eight minutes to go in the quarter. Palmer and Walker both scored again just about 25 seconds apart to give the Bucs' a two goal advantage. The final goal of the 3rd quarter came off the stick of Frank Pagano at the 4:44 mark. Isaac Guttormson rounded out the scoring with the only goal of the 4th at the 13:48 mark. 

The Bucs head up to Waukesha, WI. on March 20th for a game against the Carroll University Pioneers. That game will stat at 7:30 pm at Schneider Stadium.
