BELOIT, Wis. - This evening the Beloit College Men's Lacrosse team hosted the Spartans of Aurora Univeristy. The Buccaneers (2-9, 0-5 NACC) struggled from the jump against the Spartans (9-5, 4-0 NACC).
Ryder Story (Salem, Ore.) and
Will Palmer (Downers Grove, Ill.) led the Bucs with two goals each while
Liam Walker (Elmhurst, Ill.) netted a goal of his own.
Palmer ended a 9-0 run from the Spartans that nearly lasted the entire first quarter with his shot from deep. After a scoreless second frame for the Bucs, Story's goal at the 13:03 mark of the third made it a 16-2 game in favor of AU. To open the final quarter, Story buried a shot off a pass from
Emmet Morgan, making it a 20-3 game. Five minutes later, Walker got in on the scoring, finding the back of the net and closing the gap, 21-4. Beloit's fifth and final goal came off the stick of Palmer at the 7:38 mark.
The Buccaneer's will regroup before hosting the Concordia University of Wisconsin Falcons on Saturday. Game time at Strong Stadium is set for 2 pm.
