BELOIT, Wis. - This afternoon the Beloit College Men's Lacrosse team hosted the Falcons of Concordia University of Wisconsin for their final home match of the 2024 season. The Buccaneers (2-10, 0-6 NACC) were out shot 60-27 by the Falcons (10-5, 5-1 NACC) but still managed to score eight goals. The Bucs fell by the final score of 27-8.
Will Palmer (Downers Grove, Ill.) led the Buccaneers with four goals on nine shots.
The Falcons opened the game on a 7-0 run before
Emmet Morgan (Downers Grove, Ill.) buried the first Beloit goal with 3:50 remaining in the first quarter. Morgan's goal was the first of three straight by the Bucs. Palmer netted his first goal of the game just one minute into the second quarter to make it a 7-2 game.
Ryder Story (Salem, Ore.) pulled Beloit within four 20 seconds later.
Frank Pagano (Goshen, NY) earned the assist on Story's goal. Over the next five minutes CUW extended their lead to nine, 12-3. Palmer recorded his second goal of the game at the 7:30 mark of the second quarter. Beloit trailed 19-4 after the first 30 minutes of action.
Out of the break, the Falcons added two quick goals before Palmer scored his third of the afternoon. His goal would be the only one in the third for the Bucs who were down 23-5 heading into the final frame. Morgan opened the fourth quarter scoring with a goal less than a minute into the frame. Palmer and
Samuel Slabaugh (Lexington, Ky.) closed out the scoring for Beloit. Palmer got his fourth at the 11:49 mark and Slabaugh tallied his first with 8:51 remaining.
While the Buccaneers are done at home, they still have two road games remaining. On Tuesday, April 23rd they head to Concordia University of Chicago for a 3 pm match up with the Cougars.
