Box Score RIVER FOREST, Ill. - The Beloit College Men's Lacrosse team routed the Concordia University Cougars this afternoon in a 22-5 offensive onslaught. The Buccaneers (3-10, 1-6 NACC) out shot the Cougars (0-12, 0-8 NACC) 63-37 and forced 26 turnovers. The Bucs were led by
Liam Walker (Elmhurst, Ill.) and
Will Palmer (Downers Grove, Ill.) who both tallied 5 goals. Palmer recorded two assists while Walker tallied one.
The Cougars opened the game with a goal just over two minutes into the game. Beloit answered by putting together a 4-0 run over the next six minutes with goals from Palmer,
Jordan Rice (Riverdale, Ill.) and Walker. CUC added two more goals in the first quarter before the Bucs closed out the frame with goals at 1:17 and 48 seconds. Palmer recorded a hat trick in the first quarter alone.
For the second straight quarter, CUC opened the scoring in the second.
Alexander Klemp (Broomfield, Colo.) gave the Buccaneers a 7-4 lead when he netted his first goal of the season at the 10:26 mark. Neither team scored for the next six minutes. Walker broke the scoreless streak with his second goal of the game with 4:13 left in the half. After the Cougars fifth and final goal of the game came with 3:41 on the clock, the Bucs closed out the half on a 5-0 run to take a 13-5 lead into the locker room.
Palmer,
Emmet Morgan (Downers Grove, Ill.), and Walker combined for six Buccaneer goals in the third quarter to extend their lead to 14, 19-5. Over the final fifteen minutes of action, three more goals were scored for Beloit.
Frank Pagano (Goshen, NY) recorded his first of the game at the 14:16 mark. Walker found the back of the net when he connected with Palmer with 11:32 remaining. The final goal of the game came off the stick of Rice off a pass from
Ryder Story (Salem, Ore.) with under three minutes to go.
The Buccaneers will wrap up the 2024 season on Saturday when they head to Benedictine, Ill. for a final NACC game against the Benedictine University Eagles. Game time for Saturday is set for 1 pm.
