PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The Beloit College women's soccer team opened the 2024 season on the road against the Pioneers of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
The Buccaneers struggled offensively to get things going, mustering only four total shots with two of those being on goal.
Megan Thompson (Clarendon Hills, Ill.) accounted for three of the four shots, with one on goal.
Hannah Sempsrott (St. Charles, Ill.) fired off the fourth shot.
Maya Betzler (College Place, Wash.) and
Daisy Kleinhoffer (Minooka, Ill.) both spent time between the posts, Betzler tallied 11 saves in just under 80 minutes. Kleinhoffer saved two shots in the remaining ten-plus minutes.
Thompson and
Lauryn Volza (Albuquerque, N.M.) were the only two Bucs to spend all ninety minutes on the pitch, while Coach Baillie used five subs to rotate legs as the Buccaneers' have a quick turnaround when they host Webster University tomorrow, August 31st at 12pm at Strong Soccer Complex in Beloit.
