MILWAUKEE, Wis. - This evening the Beloit College Women's soccer team headed up to Milwaukee for a game under the lights. The Buccaneers (1-4-1, 0-0-0) visited the Warriors (3-1-0, 0-0-0) of Wisconsin Lutheran College. The Warriors put on an offensive clinic, defeating the Bucs 6-0.
The injury ridden Buccaneers struggled offensively, while the Warriors used it to their advantage. Beloit mustered seven total shots, with three of them on goal.
Natalie Ortiz (Crystal Lake, Ill.) recorded three shots,
Abigail Membrino (Darien, Wis.) took two and
Grace Hartwig (St. Louis, Mo.) fired one. All three tallied one SOG. WLC shut down Beloit's top offensive weapon in
Megan Thompson (Clarendon Hills, Ill.), who failed to record a shot. Meanwhile, WLC totaled 22 shots, converting 11 of those to on goal.
Goalkeepers
Maya Betzler (College Place, Wash.) and
Kaya Williams (Cincinnati, OH) split time in goal. Betzler started and played nearly 63 minutes while Williams took over for the final 27. Betzler recorded three saves and Williams grabbed one.
The Buccaneers head to UW-Stevens Point on Sunday for a 1 pm kick off at the Point Soccer Bowl.
