BELOIT, Wis. - The Buccaneer Men's Soccer team hosted the Westminster College Blue Jays in a rainy late morning match up today. The Buccaneers (1-8-0, 0-0-0) and Blue Jays (1-6-0, 0-0-0) played a scoreless first half before Westminster buried goals in the 59th and 89th minutes.
The Buccaneers had a chance to tie the game in the 69th minute when
Tony Vogt (Elkhorn, Wis.) cleared the wall but hit the right post for a near miss. In the final ten minutes, the Bucs maintained possession well but were unable to develop any goals.
David Staats (Meridian, ID) recorded is second double-digit save total of the season, stopping 12 shots in 90 minutes of action.
Beloit now has six days off before they kick off Midwest Conference play on Saturday, September 28th in Mount Vernon, Iowa against the Cornell Rams. Kick off on Saturday is set for 11 am at the Cornell Soccer Field.
