BELOIT, WI – The Beloit College women's volleyball team took to their home court at Flood Arena this evening, facing off against Eureka in a challenging season match. Despite a valiant effort across three sets, the Buccaneers (2-14, 0-3 MWC) fell to the Red Devils (5-11, 0-6 SLIAC) 3-0 (16-25, 13-25, 21-25). While the scoreboard reflected a tough day for the Buccaneers, the team showed flashes of competitive play and individual strengths throughout the contest. 

In a sport where teamwork is paramount, several Beloit players stood out with their contributions. Leading the attack was Selin Tufte (Clarkdale, Ariz.), who delivered 8 kills on the day. Tufte added 10 digs, showing her all around ability.  Maddisyn Adams (Stockett, MT) also provided a significant offensive presence with 5 kills and 8 digs consistently challenging the Eureka defense. 

The defensive effort was notable, the aforementioned Tufte led the team in digs, while Aaliyah Gerard (Aiea, HI) and Adelaide Schmitt (Aurora, Colo.) also contributed defensively, each adding 6 digs to their stat line. The Buccaneers recorded 1 total team block, showcasing moments of strong net defense.

The match highlights included some competitive rallies, particularly in the third set where Beloit pushed Eureka to a closer 21-25 score.

The Buccaneers are on the road for their next five matches, starting on Saturday in Galesburg, Illinois when they meet Knox College and ending on October 21st when they are in Watertown, Wisconsin facing Maranatha Baptist. Saturday's match is an 11 am start from Memorial Gymnasium.
