BELOIT, Wis. - The Midwest Conference announced the 2025 Men's Soccer All-Conference Honors earlier this morning. Three Buccaneers earned honors, with
Eziah Hernandez (New Mexico) highlighting the list, earning Newcomer of the Year and a spot on the second team attackers list. Fifth Year
Rafael Cervantes Jr. (Dallas, TX) earned a spot on the first-team attackers list, while sophomore keeper
David Staats (Meridian, ID) was named the first-team goalkeeper. This marks the first time since 2012 that more than one Buccaneer has made the list in a single season.
Hernandez burst onto the scene as a freshman, appearing near the top of the conference leaderboards in several categories. Throughout MWC play, he led the conference with 14 points, tied for the league lead with six goals, tied for second in shots on goal (11) and finished tied for fifth in overall shots (21). Overall, he netted eight goals and added five assists for a team-high 21 points.
In his first season with the Buccaneer men's soccer team, place kicker turned attacker Cervantes Jr. contributed eight goals, four in MWC play, and two assists. He placed in the top ten in conference in shots on goal and goals.
Sophomore keeper Staats had a breakout season between the posts for the Buccaneers. He led the MWC in saves, with 151 and saves per game with 7.95. Not only did he lead the MWC in total saves, but he also led all of DIII. His saves per game number ranks in the top ten as well.
