PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The Beloit College Track and Field teams showcased their talents at the UW-Platteville Invitational held at the Williams Fieldhouse, with several notable final results.
On the men's side,
Josh Yearby (West Park, FL) sprinted to a first place, 6.89-second finish in the 60 Meter Dash, while Beloit's 4x200 Meter Relay team of Yearby,
Izzy Zewdie (Las Vegas, Nev.),
Alexandre Atou (Abomey Calavi, Benin), and
Nate Otis (Shoreview, Minn.) clocked in at 1:32.11. The 4x400 Meter Relay team of
Kembre Daniel (Chicago, Ill.), Atou, Zewdie, and
John Deary II (Westwego, LA) also impressed with a time of 3:32.62.
In the Women's 200 Meter Dash,
Alayna Furch (Saint Charles, Mo.) clocked in at 27.56. Later, the Women's 4x200 Meter Relay saw Beloit's team, consisting of Furch,
Cole Miller (Salem, Ore.),
Jaslyn Gama (Beloit, Wis.), and
Niomee Casey (Broken Arrow, Okla), secure a time of 1:52.10. Over in the mile,
Emeline Russell (Aberdeen, Wash.) crossed the finish line at 7:02.49. The Bucs 4x400 relay team of Furch, Miller, Gama and Casey took the top spot taking 4:27.18. Finally, in the 800m race,
Selin Tufte (Clarkdale, Ariz.) completed the 800 in a time of 2:51.87,
Carly Carpenter (Sycamore, Ill.) at 3:04.04, and
Meghan Koning (Mt. Prospect, Ill.) at 3:46.50. In field events,
Adelaide Schmitt threw 9.77m in the shot put, taking 11th place.
The Buccaneers head to Chicago next Saturday for the Margret Bradley Invitational. Action from the Ted Haydon Track is set to start at 11:30 am.
