GRINNELL, IA - In a high-scoring affair, the Grinnell College Pioneers defeated the Beloit College Buccaneers by a score of 109-79. Grinnell's potent offense, known for its rapid pace and reliance on the three-point shot, proved too much for Beloit to handle.
The Pioneers (18-6, 11-4 MWC) shot a respectable 50% from the field, hitting 36 of 72 attempts, and connected on 16 of 38 three-point attempts. Grinnell had a commanding 75 points come from its bench compared to Beloit's 24 points.
While Beloit's offense wasn't as efficient as Grinnell's, several Buccaneers (9-15, 4-11 MWC) put up solid performances. Azeez Ganiyu (Beloit, Wis.) led Beloit with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Jabari Scuefield (Hazel Crest, Ill.) added 17 points and 4 assists, while Anthony Carter (Greenfield, Wis.) contributed 10 points and 6 rebounds.
The Buccaneers are home for the final game of the 2024-25 season on Saturday. Lake Forest College comes to Flood Arena for a 3 pm tip. Prior to the action, the Buccaneers will recognize Ganiyu, Scuefield, Brian Rusch, Ryan Nixon, Ethan Bozzo and Clayton Jenny.
