GRINNELL, Iowa - Day two of the Midwest Conference Championships wrapped up earlier this evening at Grinnell College. Day two featured a strong performance by the Buccaneer Women.
Helena Harrison (Chapel Hill, N.C.) repeated as 1 meter champion, scoring 397.85B.Â
India David (St. Paul, MN.)Â and
Elsa Gregory followed in 3rd and 4th with 325.60 and 317.25.Â
The Beloit swimmers showcased their talent and determination achieving notable results in both individual and relay events. Freshman Lydia Nordgren (South Beloit, Ill.) emerged as a standout performer, while solid performances across the board highlighted the depth of the women's team.
Nordgren made her mark early, securing an impressive second-place finish in the Women's 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 24.04. This strong showing positions her as a key athlete to watch throughout the season.
Beyond individual success, the Beloit relay teams demonstrated impressive teamwork and speed. The Women's 400 Yard Freestyle Relay team, comprised of Maclaryn Leonard (South Beloit, Ill.), Lylah Murrah (North Pole, AK), Nordgren, and Nora Krystowiak (Kenosha, Wis.), finished fourth with a time of 4:08.25.
The Women's 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team also delivered a solid performance, securing fifth place with a time of 1:42.93. This team featured Nordgren alongside Murrah, Amelia Pullen (New Orleans, La.), and Leonard.
On the men's side, Jeremy Mueller (Machesney Park, Ill.)Â achieved a commendable fifth-place finish in the Men's 50 Yard Freestyle, clocking in at 21.13.Â
Day three of competition kicks off tomorrow morning at 10 am.Â
