Men's Lacrosse Drops Season Opener to Hanover

BELOIT, Wis. - The Beloit College Men's lacrosse team opened their 2025 season at Strong Stadium this afternoon against Hanover College. Despite a hard-fought effort, the Buccaneers were defeated by a final score of 10-4.

The Panthers (2-1, 0-0 HCAC) started strong, netting four goals in the first quarter to the Buccaneers (0-1, 0-0 NACC) one. Beloit struggled to find the net in the second quarter, as Hanover extended their lead by outscoring them in the third and fourth quarter.

Samuel Van Der Kolk (Grand Haven, Mich.) opened the scoring for both teams, netting the Buccaneers first goal of the 2025 season at the 10:51 mark in the first quarter. Will Palmer (Downers Grove, Ill.) buried the Bucs second goal of the game in the third quarter off a pass from Ryder Story (Salem, Ore.). Samuel Slabaugh (Lexington, Ky.) added the third goal with 3:05 left in the third quarter. Liam Walker (Elmhurst, Ill.) rounded out Beloit's scoring with 45 seconds remaining in the third quarter. Jordan Rice (Lynwood, Ill.) was awarded the assist. 

In goal, Eric Seo (Woodridge, Ill.) recorded an impressive 22 saves, proving to be a crucial element of the Beloit defense.

The Bucs will host Centenary College (Louisiana) on Friday, March 7th at Strong Stadium. The game is set to start at 4 pm.
