MONMOUTH, Ill. - The 2025 MWC Indoor Track and Field Championships wrapped up this afternoon from Monmouth College. The Buccaneer Men took 5th while the Women took 7th.
Alayna Furch (Saint Charles, Mo.) and
Naomee Casey (Broken Arrow, Okla) both came away with third place finishes on the final day of action at the 2025 MWC Indoor Track and Field Championships. Furch took third place in the Women's 400, clocking in at 1:01.65. Casey beat her own school record reaching 3.10m in pole vault, taking third place.
Also on the track,
Niomee Casey (Broken Arrow, Okla) came away with a 7th place finish in the 60m hurdles with a time of 10.80. The Bucs saw success in both relays ran today. The 4x400 team of
Cole Miller (Salem, Ore.), Furch,
Jaslyn Gama (Beloit, Wis.), and
Jaeonie Echols (Kansas City, Mo.) placed fourth running a 4:12.00. The distance medley team of
Carter Browne (Hornell, N.Y.), Gama, Miller, and
Simone de Montigny (Neenah, Wis.) ran a 13:49.95 for seventh place.
In the field,
Naomi Murphy (Dubuque, Iowa) competed in High Jump, taking fifth (J1.45m),
Haley Carlin (Sarasota, Fla.) took sixth in Pole Vault (2.65m) and
Kit Kronberger (Wausau, Wis.) took eighth in Weight Throw (13.06m).
Josh Yearby and
Nate Otis were the highest finishers for the men as Yearby came away with one second place finish while Otis had two. Yearby finished second in the 60m dash, running a 6.92. Otis brought home second place finishes in the 400 (49.33) and the 60m Hurdles (8.57).
The distance medley team of
Kembre Daniel (Chicago, Ill.),
Elijah Hartberg (Stoughton, Wis.),
Aiden Cortinas (Sycamore, Ill.), and
Dylan Malmgren (Loves Park, Ill.) finished in 6th place at 10:51.66.
The notable finish in the field events today came from Freshman
John Deary II (Westwego, LA). Deary took seventh in long jump, with 6.54m.
As the Bucs wrap up their indoor season, they will head to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for spring break and compete at the Myrtle Beach Challenge on March 14th and 15th.
