Women's Lacrosse Falls to UW-Stout in Tightly Contested Matchup

MENOMONIE, Wis. - In a tightly contested match held at Nelson Field, the UW-Stout women's lacrosse team narrowly defeated Beloit College by a score of 13-12. The game saw both teams trading blows throughout the four periods, with UW-Stout ultimately securing the victory in the final moments.

Despite the loss, the Buccaneers (2-1, 0-0 NACC) put up a strong fight, showcasing impressive offensive firepower. Johanna McNair (Fishers, Ind.) led the charge for Beloit, racking up an impressive 6 goals and an assist. Maya DeGeorge (Grand Junction, Colo.) also contributed significantly with 4 goals of her own. Beloit's offense was particularly potent on power plays, converting 5 of their opportunities.

Mai Nou Vang netted 7 goals for the Blue Devils (2-0, 0-0 WIAC), including a crucial one in the final minute, to seal the win for the home team. Megan Palmer added 3 goals, while Riley Schulte chipped in with 2 goals and 2 assists. The game was physical, with a total of 23 fouls called against Wis.-Stout and 17 against Beloit. 

The Beloit College goal tending duties were split between Kim Pilon (Birch Run, Mich.), who played the first 30 minutes and recorded 3 saves, and Jasmin Bowers (Richmond, Texas), who took over in the second half and also made 3 saves. UW-Stout's Emilia Bullock played the entire game, registering 13 saves.

The Bucs head to Rock Island, Illinois on Wednesday to face off against the Vikings of Augustana College. Start time is slated for 6 pm.
