Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Men's Lacrosse Falls to Lawrence

APPLETON, WI – The Beloit College Men's Lacrosse team (3-4, 0-3 NACC) was defeated by Lawrence University (3-5, 1-2 NACC) by a score of 16-6 this evening at The Banta Bowl. Despite a valiant effort, the Buccaneers were unable to overcome a strong offensive performance from the Vikings.

Lawrence started strong scoring six times in the opening quarter.

Offensively, Beloit was led by Liam Walker (Elmhurst, Ill.), who tallied two goals. Frank Pagano (Goshen, NY), Jordan Rice (Lynwood, Ill.), Isaac Guttormson (West Bend, Wis.), and Will Palmer (Downers Grove, Ill.) each contributed one goal to the Beloit effort. Rice (1), Ryder Story (Salem, Ore.) (2) and Ethan Scutchfield (Lexington, Ky.) (1) recorded assists for the Buccaneers.

While Beloit's offense found the net six times, the Lawrence Vikings proved difficult to contain. Iori Yamada led the Lawrence attack with a hat trick, supported by three-goal performances from Judah Goehring and Brody Herr.

Beloit battled hard throughout the game, with Samuel Van Der Kolk (Grand Haven, Mich.) winning 11 of 21 face-offs, although Lawrence ultimately matched Beloit with 12 face-off wins. Defensively, Beloit goalkeeper Eric Seo (Woodridge, Ill.) recorded eight saves.

The Buccaneers recorded 19 ground balls with Davis, Seo and Zachary Sochacki (Homer Glen, Ill.) each notching three a piece.

The Bucs continue NACC play on Saturday when they head to Aurora, Ill. to face off against the Spartans of Aurora University. Game time is set for 2 pm.
