MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Beloit College track and field teams put forth strong efforts at the 2025 Private College Championship held at Raabe Stadium on April 5th, 2025. The Buccaneer men's team secured an impressive third-place finish with 86 points, while the women's team placed ninth with 12 points.
Men's Highlights
The men's team showcased depth across various event groups, led by standout performances from junior Nate Otis (Shoreview, Minn.) and sophomore Joshua Martinez Marte (Beloit, Wis.).
Otis was a major point contributor, winning the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.34 seconds. He also placed third in the high jump, clearing 1.80m (5-10.75), took second place in the 400-meter dash (50.28), and ran a leg on the victorious 4x400 meter relay team.
Martinez Marte excelled in the throws, finishing second in the discus with a mark of 44.54m (146-01) and third in the shot put at 14.04m (46-00.75). He also added points with a seventh-place finish in the hammer throw (42.00m / 137-09).
The Buccaneers claimed victory in the men's 4x400 meter relay, with the team of Otis, Alexandre Atou (Abomey Calavi, Benin), Izzy Zewdie (Las Vegas, Nev.), and Kembre Daniel (Chicago, Ill.) clocking in at 3:24.94.
Pole vaulters Cal Fox (FR) and Cooper Rathmann (FR) had a strong showing, placing second (3.40m / 11-01.75) and third (3.10m / 10-02.00) respectively.

Women's Highlights
Junior Simone de Montigny (Neenah, Wis.) led the scoring with an excellent second-place finish in the 5000-meter run, crossing the line in 19:43.33.
Senior Carter Browne (Hornell, N.Y.) also scored in the 5000m, placing eighth (21:15.13).
In the field events, sophomore Naomi Murphy (Dubuque, Iowa) placed seventh in the high jump (1.43m / 4-08.25) and sophomore Haley Carlin (Sarasota, Fla.) finished eighth in the javelin throw (26.27m / 86-02) to round out the scoring.
The Buccaneers look ahead to next weekend when they host the Beloit Relays. Action is set to start at 11 am at Strong Stadium.
