Alport and Brankey Named to All-Region Teams

BELOIT, Wis. - Earlier today D3baseball.com and ABCA/Rawlings announced their All-Region teams for the 2025 season. Two Buccaneers earned honors, with Jack Alport making both lists. 

Junior outfielder Jack Alport (Arlington Heights, Ill.) has earned All-Region honors, capping off a remarkable season that saw him excel at the plate, on the basepaths, and in the field. Alport was named All-Region Third team by D3baseball.com and All-Region Second team by the ABCA/Rawlings. This significant recognition follows his selection to the 2025 1st Team All-MWC, highlighting his dominant performance throughout the year.

Alport was an offensive powerhouse this season. He finished with an impressive 72 hits, the second-most in a single season in program history and the most in the MWC this season. This output included 53 singles, placing him near the single-season record of 58. His batting average soared to .377, and he consistently reached base, evidenced by a .461 on-base percentage (OBP), bolstered by 29 walks. Demonstrating his ability to get on base consistently, Alport reached safely in all but two of the 46 games played this season and recorded eight games with three or more hits.

Beyond his hitting prowess, Alport was a dynamic presence on the bases, stealing 15 bases in 18 attempts and scoring 47 runs. Defensively, he was a linchpin in center field, starting every game and showcasing elite defensive skills with a .981 fielding percentage.

Sophomore right fielder Seth Brankey (Salem, Wis.) has also been recognized for an exceptional 2025 campaign, earning Third team All-Region honors from ABCA/Rawlings for his outstanding performance both at the plate and in the field. Brankey was a consistent force for his team, demonstrating a potent offensive skillset coupled with remarkable defensive reliability.

Throughout the season, Brankey started all 43 games, amassing impressive offensive numbers. He finished with a robust .364 batting average, collecting 59 hits in 162 at-bats. His ability to get on base was a key asset, evidenced by a stellar .468 on-base percentage, bolstered by 29 walks and 7 hit-by-pitches. Brankey also showcased significant power and extra-base prowess, slugging .543 for the season. His offensive output included 8 doubles, 3 triples, and 5 home runs, contributing to 33 RBIs and a team-leading 55 runs scored.

Beyond his hitting, Brankey was a dynamic presence on the basepaths, successfully stealing 16 bases in 19 attempts. He rarely struck out, fanning just 25 times over the season, and did not ground into a single double play.

Defensively, Brankey was a stalwart in right field. He committed just one error across the entire season, resulting in an exceptional .991 fielding percentage. He recorded 103 putouts and contributed 5 assists, showcasing both his range and a strong arm.
