Maya DeGeorge (Grand Junction, Colo.) established herself as the premier ground ball specialist in NCAA Division III women's lacrosse this season, leading the nation with a dominant average of 6.29 ground balls per game—a figure significantly higher than the next closest player at 5.40.
Her relentless effort culminated in a new single-season program record with 88 ground balls, surpassing the previous high set by Nicole Dolcimascolo in 2019. Incredibly, in just two seasons with the Bucs, DeGeorge amassed 141 career ground balls, launching her to 5th on the program's all-time list.
Her all-around excellence did not go unnoticed, as she was named the 2025 NACC Midfielder of the Year and earned First Team All-NACC honors for the second consecutive season.
