BELOIT, Wis. – A legacy of excellence reached a historic milestone on Tuesday afternoon as Beloit College head baseball coach Dave DeGeorge captured his 600th career victory.
The landmark win came in dominant fashion, as the Buccaneers cruised to a 12-1 victory over Ripon College. The win adds another chapter to DeGeorge's storied career.
The 600th win is the latest in a series of historic achievements for DeGeorge this spring. On March 10th, during the Buccaneers' Spring Break trip to Florida, DeGeorge officially became the winningest coach in the history of Beloit College athletics. That record-breaking moment occurred when the Bucs defeated Mount St. Mary's, moving him past the legendary Bill Knapton for the top spot in school history.
With today's result, DeGeorge's career coaching record stands at an even 600-598-2, bringing his career winning percentage to .500
Beyond the confines of Beloit, DeGeorge's impact is felt across the entire region. He currently sits as the second most winning coach in Midwest Conference History.
Since taking over the Buccaneer program in 1991, DeGeorge has transformed Beloit into a consistent contender. His tenure has been marked by:
- Five MWC Coach of the Year awards (2009, 2011, 2016, 2021, and 2023).
- Multiple Conference and Tournament Championships, including a historic run of titles in 2023 and 2024.
- Multiple Conference, Region and All-American Awards for individual players
- Eight former players in the Beloit College Hall of Honor
Coaching runs deep in the DeGeorge family. Dave's father, Ed DeGeorge, was the head football coach at Beloit for 29 years, and his brothers Mike and Joe have also seen significant success in the coaching ranks at the collegiate and high school levels.
As the Buccaneers continue their push through the 2026 season, today's 12-1 victory serves as a reminder of the steady leadership and competitive spirit DeGeorge has brought to the dugout for over three decades.
Congratulations to Coach Dave DeGeorge on reaching the 600-win plateau.
