WARRENVILLE, IL - Beloit College's cross country teams competed at the Gil Dodds Invitational earlier today. The field was large, with 248 finishers in the men's 8K and 179 in the women's 6K.
The women's squad finished 12th out of 15 teams with 340 points, led by Addie Bogda (Collierville, TN). Bogda ran 24:46.20 to place 55th overall and was Beloit's top finisher by more than a minute and a half, at roughly a 6:39 per-mile pace.
Cole Miller (Salem, Ore.) was second for Beloit at 26:04.70, placing 86th overall. Sofia Jackson (Newton, Mass.) followed in 97th at 26:30.10, and Allie Roberts was 113th at 27:10.50. Meghan Koning (Mt. Prospect, Ill.) completed the scoring five with a 28:38.70 in 137th. Beloit's total time for its five scorers was 2:13:10.20, an average of 26:38.04, with a 3:52.50 gap between its first and fifth runners.
Ana Metz (Albian, Mich.) (29:42.80, 151st) and Ellie Nelson (29:54.30, 153rd) were Beloit's sixth and seventh runners. Carly Carpenter (Sycamore, Ill.) also ran, finishing 172nd in 32:41.50.
Beloit finished ahead of Concordia University Chicago (394 points), DuPage (425) and Emmaus Bible (474). Moraine Valley CC placed 11th with 318 points, 22 ahead of Beloit.
Beloit's men did not appear in the team standings, which score five runners per team. The four Beloit athletes still ran the 8K.
The Buccaneers are back in action at the Steve Travis Invitational in West Allis, Wisconsin on Saturday, October 3rd.Â
