DUBUQUE, IA - The Beloit College cross country teams kicked off their 2026 season this evening at the Bob Schultz invite hosted by Loras College. Led by a standout top-15 performance from
Addie Bogda (Collierville, TN) and a solid lead run by
Samuel Neubauer (Rockford, Ill.), the Buccaneers proved they are ready to compete with the region's best.
The Beloit women were led by sophomore Bogda, who delivered the performance of the day for the Buccaneers. Bogda navigated the course with precision, finishing in 14th place with a sharp time of 20:45.8. Her ability to stay within striking distance of the lead pack from Loras and Dubuque set a high standard for the rest of the squad.
Following Bogda, the Buccaneers demonstrated impressive pack running. Senior Cole Miller (Salem, Ore.) and sophomore Sofia Jackson (Newton, Mass.) finished nearly in lockstep, taking 30th (22:04.6) and 31st (22:05.6) places, respectively. Their back-to-back finish provided a significant boost to the team's point total.
Sophomore Allie Roberts followed closely behind, securing 36th place with a time of 22:44.4. Rounding out the competitive effort for Beloit were:
On the men's side, freshman Neubauer emerged as the leader for the Beloit contingent. In a fast-paced race dominated by Loras College alumni and varsity runners, Neubauer held his own to finish. 63rd with a time of 18:49.1.
The veteran presence of senior Sawyer Wall (Chicago, Ill.) was also on display, as he crossed the finish line in 85th place at 21:10.0. The Buccaneers' scoring was completed by a duo of underclassmen who finished within five seconds of each other: freshman Mathais Shoemaker (Clinton, Wis.) took 92nd place (21:59.5), while junior Conall Witherite (Round Lake, IL) followed in 93rd place (22:04.8).
The Bucs run again on September 19th at the Gil Dodds Invitational hosted by Wheaton College. The race, set to take place at the St. James Farm Forest Preserve in Warrenville, Illinois.
