Bucs Compete Despite Abysmal Conditions

Despite wind gusts in excesses of 30 miles per hour and a feel-like temperature below 30 degrees, the Beloit College women's lacrosse team traveled to Aurora, Illinois to compete Saturday afternoon. The Bucs fell to the Spartans 16-5 in the contest.

Morgan Nicholson remains among the top five goal scorers in the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference with a total of 33 on the season after tallying three Saturday. In league games only, Nicholson is tied for sixth with 25 points in eight games played.

Nicholson scored twice in the first half, the first at the 17:05 mark and against with 7:29 on the clock. Nicole Dolcimascolo opened the scoring for Beloit in the second half finding the back of the net on a free position opportunity at 22:16. Nicholson tallied her third goal of the contest with 19:08 left in the game and Katie LaCost registered the team's final goal of the game with 4:58 on the clock.

Alexa Arakelian recorded 12 saves in net for the Buccaneers. In eight league games this season, Arakelian has the second-most saves in the conference with 78.

Up Next: The Bucs will host Cornell College Saturday, April 21 and Monmouth College Sunday, April 22. Both contests are slated to begin at 1 p.m.
