The Beloit College women's lacrosse team capitalized on a 6-2 first advantage to defeat Cornell College 10-6 as senior Casey Ryan was recognized Saturday afternoon at Strong Stadium.

Ryan was met by her parents and other supporters at midfield prior to the game to be recognized as the team's lone senior.

Kieran Rodning opened the scoring with a free position goal less than a minute into the game to give Beloit the 1-0 lead. Cornell scored the equalizer at the 27:15 mark before Morgan Nicholson scored her first of four goals at 26:16 on another free position opportunity that gave the Buccaneers the lead back, 2-1.

Nicholson made it back-to-back free position goals with another at the 24:22 mark of the first half. Rodning struck again, this time off an assist by Olivia Nasatir, just 20 seconds later to make it 4-1 Beloit.

With 10:42 on the clock, Rodning found the back of the net on a free position shot for her third goal of the game. Another free opportunity extended the gap to five, 6-1, as Nicole Dolcimascolo got in on the scoring with less than five minutes remaining in the half.

Cornell scored with 50 seconds left to make it 6-2.

The teams were even at 4-4 goals in the second half en route to the win.

Nicholson tallied four goals in the contest while Rodning added three, Dolcimascolo tallied two and Milchman found the back of the net once. Nasatir was credited with two helpers.

The difference in the game came from free position opportunities as Beloit scored on seven of 12 attempts while the Rams failed to capitalize on any of their five chances.
