Bucs Drop Non-Conference Twinbill

The Beloit College softball team blasted 21 hits but dropped a doubleheader to Mount Mary University Tuesday afternoon. The Buccaneers fell 10-6 and 10-3 at the Strong Stadium Complex.

Despite the 21 hits in the twinbill, the Buccaneers plated just nine runs stranding 22 on the basepaths over the course of 14 innings.

The Blue Angels took a 6-0 lead after two innings in the opener. The Bucs responded with three in the third with Amanda Langford drawing a RBI walk and Isabel Johnson belting a two-RBI double down the left field line.

MMU responded with three more in the top of the fourth and that would be all they would need. A Briana Arteaga double through the left side plated a single run in the fourth before Riley Conn drove in Beloit's final runs of the game on a double through the left side.

Sidda Meyers and Arteaga were both 3-5 at the plate to lead the Bucs. The pair combined for a RBI and four runs scored in the game.

Cora Aubert suffered the loss on the mound in the game.

The Blue Angels once again plated six runs in their first two offensive opportunities of game two. The Bucs responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the second with Hannah Beran's RBI fielder's choice and a double off Meyers' bat that brought in another. Beloit's final run of the day was also scored on a fielder's choice in the fifth.

Meyers led the Bucs offensively with a 3-4 game at the dish. Maddy Pfortmiller took the loss in the circle for Beloit.
