The Beloit College women's lacrosse team fell to Concordia Wisconsin 9-3 on a dreary night at Strong Stadium Wednesday.
In a game that was originally postponed due to snow, the conditions were still less than favorable Wednesday. Temperatures neared 40 but the wind made it feel much colder and the rain came at a steady pace.
Despite the conditions, the Buccaneers took an early lead.
Chloe Hain opened the scoring with an unassisted score just over six minutes into the game. The Falcons registered the equalizer a little over 30 seconds later.
Johanna McNair reclaimed the lead for Beloit with back-to-back goals, the first with 7:47 on the clock and the second with 2:03 to go in the first to make it 3-1. From that point, CUW shutdown the Bucs' offense while the Falcons picked up their attack netting goals in each of the next three quarters.
Beloit gained possession at a more efficient clip winning 10 of the 16 draw controls in the game.
Suzanne Healy, McNair and goalie
Sofia Jeddeloh were the most active in loose ball situations hauling in five ground balls each. Meanwhile, Healy, McNair and
Alexxa Schubert all caused a pair of turnovers a piece.
Jeddeloh made nine saves in the complete game in net for Beloit.
